A.     FEDERAL

http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm  U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The USCIS is responsible for the administration of immigration and naturalization adjudication functions and establishing immigration services policies and priorities. These functions include:

      www.grants.gov: To search for federal grants you can use the website!

http://www.lep.gov/: This is a multi agency website, with information on federal policies and links to information, tools, and technical assistance regarding Limited English Proficiency and language services for federal agencies, recipients of federal funds, and other stakeholders.  This site has many useful links.

http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/lep/: This site, operated by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, offers policy guidance on the prohibition against national origin discrimination as it affects persons with Limited English Proficiency.  It includes a Q & A section and Selected Federal and State Laws and Regulations Requiring Language Assistance.  The information is offered in Spanish and English.  Title VI fact sheets are available in Chinese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese.

 http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/cor/13166.htm: The Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Coordination and Review Section website provides guidance and materials for working with Executive Order 13166, and provides access to DOJ and other agency guidance documents, the OMB report on the benefits and costs of implementing Executive Order 13166, and Assistant Attorney General memoranda.  It has a “commonly asked questions and answers regarding Executive Order 13166” section and an “I speak” language identification flashcard in PDF format.  It also has links to all federal agencies’ LEP guidance and many federal agencies’ LEP plans.

http://www.fns.usda.gov/fsp/outreach/translations.htm: This USDA. FNS site has links to FNS documents translated in up to 34 languages.

http://www.state.ma.us/dph/bhqm/webresou.pdf: Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  The site offers many medical glossaries in Spanish as well as access to many medical multilingual dictionaries.  The site also has links to various translation resources from various states and sources.

C.  TRANSLATION SERVICES AND LANGUAGE INFORMATION

http://www.languageline.com/: Language line is a commercial enterprise that offers over the phone interpretation and document translation.  They offer services in 140 languages but not all services are available in every language.  They offer medical interpreters in 22 languages. 

http://www.falcontranslations.com/languages.htm: Falcon Translations is a commercial vendor that provides translations for over 70 languages.  The website provides a complete listing of all the countries and the languages that are spoken in each country – you can search by country.

http://www.123translation.com/: 123 Translation.com is a Certified Legal Translation Service.  They offer official translations of documents that have been presented to official authorities, e.g. a birth certificate, a marriage certificate, a court ruling, wills, etc.  123 Translation offers limited languages such as French, Spanish, Romanian, and Russian. 

http://cyracom.net/index.jsp: CyraCom International Inc. is a provider of cross-cultural language services to healthcare, government and social services organizations.  All interpreters are trained in medical terminology.  150 languages.   

http://www.teleinterpreters.com/: Tele-interpreters is a commercial website that offers telephone interpretation in more than one hundred fifty languages.  They offer service in more than eighteen fields including healthcare and government. 

http://www.certifiedlanguages.com/: Certified Languages International is a vendor of telephone access interpretation services.  They offer interpretation services in over 143 languages.  The website provides language groupings for primary cultural groups, and suggested interchangeability of language. 

http://www.lle-inc.com/: Language Learning Enterprises is a commercial vendor that offers face-to-face interpretation, telephonic interpretation and translation.  They provide services for over 150 languages.  Their website states they provide service to a significant number of federal, state and local government agencies, including Massachusetts.  They also provide services to the health care industry. 

www.pacificinterpreters.com: On-demand over-the-telephone foreign language interpretation in over 130 languages, 24 hours a day.  Includes medical interpretation service. 

www.passporttolanguages.com: Located in Oregon.  Over 100 languages and dialects; specializing in health care.  Telephone interpretation and written translation.  Also provides education to medical interpreters and staff; and testing to hospital and clinical staff as interpreters for accuracy and professional skills such as standards and ethics. 

www.worldlingo.com: A commercial company providing professional translation in 140 languages.  Offers an instant price quote on a professional human translation.
