About the Program
The Pennsylvania Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) provides federally-funded services to refugees in accordance with federal statutes and regulations and the Commonwealth's State Plan.
The term "refugee," for the purposes of eligibility for RRP services, applies to individuals granted safe haven in the United States under several sections of the Immigration and Nationality Act (Pub. L. No. 82-414, Ch. 477, 66 STAT. 163), as amended.
Eligibility can be determined by examining specific documents issued by the US Department of Justice, which provide evidence of legal status. RRP advises that questions regarding eligibility be referred to a specialist in immigration and nationality law, including local voluntary agencies recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals.
